Friday Faves and a Mother’s Day Brunch Recipe Round-Up

We’ve just barely snaked our way past margarita madness and the accompanying buckets of nachos and here we are with another holiday simply MADE for recipe sharing.

Mother’s Day brunch is a classic, because every mama loves her lil’ chickens, and what better way to share the day than a lazy dazy meal with those you love.

Mimosas, egg bakes and plenty of mommy time makes the big day special. This year, I’ll be sharing the it with my not-so-little Smudge and my own mama, spreading the love up and down the multi-generational tree.

I recently made Alice’s Triple Chocolate Mini Bundt Cakes with Chocolate Dipped Strawberries for a Sunday dinner fété, and happily, or maybe sad to say, there wasn’t one single bundt left for day after noshing. Strawberries and chocolate. The perfect recipe for mom appreciation day.

Mom’s are usually the defacto house taker-carer-of, but does that mean we should automatically love cleaning? Not me. But, those stains have got to come out somehow. I listen to Fresh Air all the time, but was surprised to hear this interview with the author of My Boyfriend Barfed In My Handbag and Other Things You Can’t Ask Martha, who delved into the nitty gritty of everything from wine stains (table salt is the cure!) to cat urine to mildewy towels. Clean up on aisle 7!
