Hello, and happy Friday!
It’s the first Friday in the month of August. Taking a review of my summer bucket list, I am in the dregs. I’ve been to only one outdoor summer concert, two farmers markets (what!), went paddle boarding just one time, spent just a few hours tanning at the pool, and hosted a measly few dinners on the deck, one where the grilled pizza was totally delish.
Guys, I gotta put it in full gear. Summer is going way too fast.
But given that I don’t feel like I’ve given summer my best go-get-em attitude, I do feel content about it all. Rested. Summer’s been trucking along at just the right speed. Maybe it’s because I haven’t been so busy making sure I’m doing it all that I’ve actually been getting more done.
I cancelled two trips so I could just be at home. I’ve gardened a whole lot more. I’ve cooked just for fun. I’ve been more focused at work, while not working as much. I’ve spent time with my family. And I finally finished reading a book—and it was really, really good.
That’s why I have a feeling that when summer does come to an end, I’m going to feel just fine about it. I won’t wonder where it went. I’ll look back and reflect on the good memories made. At least that’s the hope. And if not, well, there’s always next year.
But enough about me. Let’s dig into this week’s list of Friday Faves.
Oh my word, this trailer is THE CUTEST!
