Hello, hellllooooooo, and happy Friday!
The family has arrived, the venue is secured, the cooking has begun (I’ve made enough of our favorite taco meat to feed an army!), and our family reunion is set to begin! After squirreling away for far too long, I am thrilled that I will be seeing my family again! And the fun has already begun.
My sister and her fam are here this week and being together with our mom and dad has topped our to-do list. Now that the grandkids are teenagers and young adults, our activities are def different than they were when they were little. Instead of elaborate art activities and playing dress-up for hours on end only to emerge from the basement for feeding time and Grandpa’s distribution of Haagen Daaz bars, now they’re educating us on today’s culture, TikTok trends and their favorite eateries in NYC, plus cooking dinner for the adults instead of the other way around. So much has changed, but with family, it always feels wonderfully the same.
As I’ve grown older, being with family and creating memories have become my most valued possession. These are the times I wouldn’t trade for anything, because who knows what’s around the corner? Things could change in an instant, but the memories will always remain.
So let’s get to making more memories, but first, here’s this week’s Friday Faves.
My niece is living in NYC and has outfitted her apartment with finds from the street. She’s gonna be jealous of this list of discarded stuff found on the street that others now treasure.
