Happy Friday and how ’bout that summmmmerrr???
In This Post
By the looks of my friends posts on Facebook, everyone’s kids are FINALLY out of school for summer. And just in the nick of time! So much summering to do, who can spend days indoors when there’s so much fun to be had outdoors.
Last weekend we wrapped up Smudge’s 12th birthday in a big way with a big bash at one of her favorite spots, the mountains above Oakley, UT at our friends’ cabin. So generous of them to let us go up year and year again to create such amazing memories for these ladies.
This year’s big surprise: A beauty barge! With the crazy amount of snow this year the water was COLD, but the gals didn’t let that stop them from floating, swimming and exploring. It wasn’t a bluebird few days, but did they care. NEVER!
As with all FoodieCrush activities, food was center stage and on point with all the gummi bears, peanut m&m’s, puffy Cheetohs, s’mores and caprese salad a tween could shake a stick at. Or an oar. More likely, both.
Happy birthday Smudge, and thanks for the fun my little lady rock stars.
This weekend we’ll be celebrating our daddies, young, old and in between. Brunch and pool time is on our agenda, what about yours?
But before we get into the BBQs, brunches and bourbon, let’s dig into this week’s Friday Faves.
Game on!

I do find the food on this post really yummy, but then i don’t feel right when i eat a lot of junk foods. I’m one of your quiet stalkers — but I have to tell you that I cannot wait to open your post every Friday to see where YOU’VE been stalking! The thai dish at the top is great — but the title had me in one of those laughing fits that I couldn’t stop for almost 20 minutes. Still snickering as I type! Happy weekend!
