Hello! And happy Friday!

When summer hits hard like this heat is now, I am all about easy eats. And taking advantage of what’s popping up in my garden, which right now, isn’t a whole lot. The garden struggle is real. But! I do have a plethora of basil and a few fresh tomatoes which resulted in a combo pasta night. I made this pesto to creep into every crevice of sturdy rigatoni and my favorite simple pomodoro for slurpable bucatini. A simple green salad with whatever I scraped from the fridge and homemade garlic bread made this meal fast, satisfying, and delish.
If you missed the viral dance moves of this 11-year-old Indonesian boy on the bow of a racing boat, check him out. Very cool dude!
I’m taking a class all about AI (artificial intelligence), and the professor dropped this tidbit about how AI tried to cheat at chess when it was losing. It tried to go into the source files it learned from and change them! To anyone afraid of AI taking over the world…well, it just might.

Last week I was on vacation in Maui where I’ve spied on Zillow listings for years! After seeing this unique spin on a traditional Hawaiian condo remodel, now I really want to save my pennies to get a property there one day.
My friend Krista brought this magic body oil with her on our vacation and everyone was loving it. She swears it works. I bought a bottle to check it out. She warned me to watch for TONS of fakes on Amazon (so many!), but I finally found the real deal after wading through so many imitators. Or, buy it straight from their site and get 30% off with the code SUMMER30. (I took one for the team and signed up for their emails to get the code so you don’t have to!)
I also succumbed to my Instagram ad algorithm and bought the travel size of this body oil to test then see if I like it better than my cheapie Trader Joe’s version.
The Nordstrom anniversary sale is underway (ends August 3), and here are a few goodies to consider:
- A one-button long coat to take you from fall to winter
- Or, try this fun camel version with the perfect tie belted front
- This oversize sweater looks super cute sort-of tucked into the top of this pair of comfy jeans
- These Adidas sneakers are taking me right back to 4th grade! And so cute in pink
- I would happily stay at home and do absolutely nothing in this cashmere lounge set
Tips for how to retire early—you can really do it if you plan ahead and stop buying a bunch of different body oils like I did above :). If you haven’t started saving yet, get going!
