Hey, hey, hey! It’s FRIDAY!

Last weekend’s Mother’s Day was another beauty. Okay, it rained, but that didn’t damper our spirits. Or our appetites. We had brunch with mom and dad at Snowbasin Resort in Ogden, Utah, the ski resort I grew up skiing on.

Now it’s owned by the same owner as Sun Valley Resort and Salt Lake City’s luxe Grand America Hotel, and let me just tell you, the lodges at Snowbasin are nothing like any ski lodges you’ve seen before (see it here!). Huge crystal chandeliers. Beautiful woodwork, expansive windows opening to to-die-for-views. Gorgeous tapestries, treatments and fireplaces.

And our traditional spot for Mother’s Day brunch. I was too concentrated on the food to remember getting pics of the lodge. More oysters please!

If you ever get the chance, head to Snowbasin for skiing, summering or just to say you’ve been there.

And now onto this weekend…

I’m so bummed because tomorrow was to be one of Smudge’s last soccer games for the year, and guess who was going to be the substitute coach? You got that right, this girl. But, it’s been cancelled due to the other team’s no-show. Whew. We all dodged that bullet.

So instead of screaming-for / coaching / cheering-on the 12 year old soccer team, we’re thinking it’s time to add to our dog brood of two to make it three.

So if you’re looking for us, or for another four legged friend of your own, head to the No Kill Utah Best Friends Super Adoption at the Utah State Fairpark. Hours are Friday noon – 7 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and there will be tons of animals ready to head home with you.

Like our girl Pippa. She came home with us the last time we went to the Super Adoption. And now look at how happy she is now. HA!

And look at this girl Fynlee who is looking for her forever home! She has to eat in a throne due to a disease that affects her Esophagus. She is adorable! I WANT HER!

We went to the debut media event for this new golf spectacle. It’s like a cross between a driving range, bowling and skee ball. And they have killer food. It’s the first location for Utah, but they’re all over the country, and I heard the one set to open in Las Vegas is going to be a spectacle upon itself with a concert hall, 2 pools and a $10,000 per night private room. That’s when you know you’re not in Utah any more.

Oh that note, I got this for Mother’s Day. I live in them all summer long.
