Hello Friday, and welcome to this week’s faves!
OMG, the clock is winding down and next week we are delivering our one-and-only to college. Okay, so I figured since I’ve already said goodbye to her two times before (for her gap year of 3 months in Europe and then again for 3-months in Asia), sending her off to college would be a cakewalk. I mean, Thanksgiving is less time away than either of her travel stints and then she’ll be home again for a whole month at Christmas. But as parenting things go, it’s proving to be a bit more than I bargained for :). But it is all good and I am SO proud of her. I’m so excited for her. I’m so scared for her. But then, what would a mama be if we weren’t all of those things no matter if our kid is starting kindergarten, making the team, getting their first adulting job, or getting married? There’s all sorts of ‘what-ifs’ as a parent. I’m just so beyond thankful she lets me into her life to share them. I’m gonna miss you Smudge.
As such you know there’s gonna be a farewell dinner. She hasn’t quite nailed down her preference but it’s looking like finger-lickin’ ribs and her fave elote (it’s the last weekend of summer!) or cheesy gooey lasagna and burrata caprese salad (hello fall, we’re ready for you!) will be on the menu. My baby girl. Look at you, you’re all grown up.
But first, let me wipe those mama crocodile tears from my eyes, and let’s dig into this week’s Friday Faves.

I wear waterproof mascara so my eyelashes stay curled and for the past year, this one’s been my favorite (along with nearly 120K other 5-star reviewers).
Thus, I need a really good makeup remover. Over the years I’ve experimented with many, but these are my favorites:
- Low-end make-up remover that my mom has always used and I go back to every few weeks just because
- Mid/high-range make-up remover that I love for its oily feel that easily takes care of the mascara remnants of the day
- This travel-size balm works wonders and doesn’t leak. It’s so good I may buy some for my daily routine.
I’ve heard this is the BEST product for curing puffy eyes, so in my shopping cart it goes.
Love these prints—they’d be so cute hung over a bed.
