Hello hello and happy Friday.
Last weekend we had my mom, sister, and bro-in-law over for a little din-din BBQ. We made smashburgers (do you want a recipe?), grilled corn on the cob (because it comes out perfect every time), my fave BBQ beans (I can’t stop snacking on them), and my sister brought Grandma’s famous potato salad. My little sister just moved back to Utah after 30 years of living elsewhere and it’s going to be so good to have her home. Especially if she keeps making potato salad. It was just as delicious as always because the recipe is indeed just that good. And since it’s full-tilt summer, this weekend has more BBQ festivities in the plans. I haven’t decided what to cook yet. What sounds good?
But before we get into planning the menu, how about we dig into this week’s list of Friday Faves. Enjoy!
The new Barbie movie made history with the biggest opening weekend for a film directed by a woman. I loved it!
That’s why I’ll be listening to this podcast based on the archival tapes of actual interviews with all of the major players in the creation of Barbie, including the history of what inspired one of Mattel’s co-founders, Ruth Handler, to create Barbie. Fascinating stuff for a Barbie lover like me.
And, yes, I have the original Barbie board game, handed down from my aunts. It’s the only board game from my youth I’ve kept.

Excited to give this tortilla recipe a go.
