Happy Friday friends!

Who agrees with me that all weeks should be 4-day work weeks? We spent our Memorial Day by hiking the mountains, hitting the grill and and then picking through a barrel of buttered popcorn at this movie which I wish had been as good as the first.
Today I’m in Portland, OR touring the sights, food cart pod (!) and searching out the perfect doughnut with a gaggle of other food bloggers in this supremely green and forested city for Indulge Conference PDX.
The conference officially begins Friday night with the bulk of the learning happening on Saturday, including a panel I’ll be on chatting it up about food photography with Ali and Amy. Follow along on Instagram and Twitter with the hashtag #indulgeconpdx
I’ve never been to Portland so what is not to be missed / eaten / experienced? Tell me, tell me, tell me do!
So without further ado, let’s get into this week’s Friday Faves.
I was welcomed straight off the plane to one of the coolest art installations I’ve seen, all in the form of quilts, thanks to this talented group. What a cool name :) A sure sign of things to come.
And food is art. Literally.
Forget the rise, this pizza takes the prize.

Apparently I had a serious sweet tooth this week and needed all the sweets. Virtually at least.
White Chocolate Ginger Oatmeal Cookies
This looks like it would do perfectly well as double duty for breakfast.
Rhubarb Orange Almond Cake
I’ve gotta get my hands on a latte, imagine the taste of this beauty.

Tiramisu is one of my favorite desserts. How prettily are these berries on top!

I so need to get back on the conference circuit – this sounds heavenly! I LOVE Portland – we were just there a couple weeks ago. It is one of those cities that we say “we could live here”. Favorite places: Blue Star Donuts (I like way better than Voodoo), Heart for coffee, Tasty and Alder for drinks, Masu for killer sushi, Imperial for the best craft cocktails and The Picnic House for a casual and delicious lunch! Wanted to get to Lardo but ran out of time. Oh and the Food Trucks – just follow your noise.
Laura (Tutti Dolci)
I’m drooling over those brownies and that strawberry tiramisu, so pretty!
Erin
I second Blue Star Doughnuts – way better than voodoo in my opinion…but you can’t get a blunt doughnut from Blue Star. Tasty & Sons is delicious for any meal!

We did get a sampling of both, and I must say, Blue Star won my heart. I loved the crunchy exterior and super soft insides.
Tricia @ The Adventure List
As foodies, you go to a free tasting at Jacobsen’s Salt Co. So good. Doughnuts: Blue Star and Tomialli’s (spelling may be a little off). Food: Swank and Swine (bacon cheesecake appetizer), Grilled Cheese Truck (Italian grilled cheese with ricotta), Big Fat Weiner’s food truck (the best ever hot dogs!) The list is endless but this is a good start
Karista
Well darn! Wish I was going to be at the conference. I don’t live far from Portland. Would have loved to seen you again! You absolutely have to swing by Salt and Straw uptown, Penzey’s spices and Powell’s bookstore of course. Dinner at Chef Gabriel Rucker’s Little Bird is a must! Enjoy your visit Heidi!

Thank you for all the recs Karista! I’m going to be heading back up this summer with my family and will try and fit all of these in!
Michelle @ A Dish of Daily Life
Thanks for including our email organizing post on your list! :) Hope you have a fun weekend in Portland! I haven’t been there since college but it is beautiful!
