Hello and happy Friday!
One day past Thanksgiving and one more month of 2020 to go. I’m guessing it’s highly likely we’re ALL ready to say SEE YA to 2020 and move into a fresh start with a new year.
But until then, let’s dig in and find the joy of the season—masked and with plenty of hand sanitizer. This is the season of empathy, to think of others before ourselves. So how about we all do our part and mask up so that our health care workers can do their part safely and sanely, and we all live to see next Christmas, too.
Don’t temp Father Time. Don’t be a jerk. Wear a mask.
This year’s holiday will be a simpler one for everyone, and I am going to see that as a positive and take full advantage of it.
This Christmas season I’m going to put less pressure on myself to do it all.
- Less will be more.
- Simple will be my motto.
- Fun will be my thing.
- Grateful will be my swag.
- My goals to do more will be replaced by sitting things out.
- And I’ll be okay with that.
Here’s to a season of permitting ourselves to stop trying to be the be-all, end-all. This year has been rough enough. We’ve been tested. So to finish the year out, how about we all just “be.”
But first, let’s take a look at this week’s Friday Faves. Thanks for being here.
I’m seeing SO MANY blogger gift guides this year that it’s a little overwhelming. Do you want to see my list of this year’s favorite things/gift ideas, or are we over it since Friday Faves is like a whole year of gift guides? :)
on that note…
Give your family and friends permission to opt-out with this gift.
If you’ve ever thought you might want to take a train trip, this one looks epic. Glass domed cars??!!! How cool is that?
Now THIS chicken dinner is what I’m talking about.
After all that turkey, this fish dinner is a nice change.
This is probably one of the most underrated vegetables I’ve even seen a recipe for. Nice!
An easier way to pretzel. Fun!
This lettuce-free salad looks SO GOOD.
Redeem a bit of virtue with this crunchy fall flavored salad.
In 2021 I’m going to bake more scones—like these.
And biscuits. More biscuits!
My friend Lily says if you like Taylor Swift, you must watch this.
Anthropologie is doing 30% off everything:
- these candles make great gifts
- the BEST playing cards
- a beanie with an attached facial mask. get out!
The internet’s favorite leggings are on sale this weekend, and they never go on sale.
This easy to wear dress is like not wearing a dress at all, and it’s up to 50% off.
Okay, this shirt was a total Costco impulse buy after my husband bought one and couldn’t quit raving about how soft and cozy it is. The fleece lining is the bomb. I can already tell I’ll be wearing it all winter long.
14 cozy cabins to get away from it all.
Instead of making another to-do list, try doing this instead.
Give in and go ahead and make that list on this.
Make them a priority: How to keep close to family you haven’t been able to see in a while.
That’s it for this week. Have a great weekend, WEAR A MASK, and BE SAFE!
