Hello, and welcome to Friday!
This weekend I’m in stunning Sonoma, CA and Napa Valley, with some of my best and oldest friends in the world. Yep, it’s my real life Wine Country. Eerily, the movie and the characterizations of each of its players hits pretty close to home within our group. Naturally, I’m the chef (who made this killer caprese.)
This group of girls who could barely keep a sorority house clean are now running their own businesses and corporations, advocating for and counseling those in need, educating our youth, and literally saving lives.
We met as a sorority pledge group of fresh-faced college freshman, hopeful for the world ahead of us and determined to take advantage of every opportunity it afforded us.
And now look at us. After 30 years of girls-only reunion trips, each year we reunite we go straight back in time to when we were all living together under one roof, complaining about who didn’t do the dishes or having table-top dance party sing-alongs to Karen Carpenter or telling stories about the escapades of the night before. And the whole time we all say the same thing—nobody makes us laugh harder or fills our hearts more than this annual time with one another.
I hope you all have someone in your life you have a deep connection with. If you don’t, I really hope you find it—this article may help. It’s the best.
But enough about me, let’s dig into this week’s Friday Faves.

Please think about how you tout diet culture in your posts and commentary. By having diet culture feature so frequently in your food blog you are impacting your readers’ perceptions of how they should relate to food. Would you want your daughter to feel like she has to diet and cut out certain foods to be enough? To be this concerned about her weight ? Then why do you feel you should be?

Thanks for sharing this perspective!

I love reading your Friday Faves however, many of the link you post are to items that are either no longer in stock or no longer available. :(

Same response, but can’t you list what it was, so we can look for it later or elsewhere? I just am all into lip stuff, because mine are always dry.
Ashley @ Foodie Crush
Oh no! Thanks for letting me know!
