Snap. Crackle. And mix those krispies with butter, chocolate, marshmallows and graham crackers then let’s start snacking. Those little elves who live in the tree may never know what hit them once the melted marshmallows sticks around.

Times like these call for sweet treats. And by times like these I mean the end of another school year and the absolute giddiness that has been bouncing around our house, with her high kicks and smiling licks that she simply can’t contain.
But since it’s also almost the weekend, and in the true spirit of weekending, I’m vowing to veer away from attempting any recipe concocting deemed too strenuous. Nothing that will take up too much time or put pressure on my already in weekend mode brain. Baking fancy cupcakes? That’ll wait for another time.
We have lots of other types of fun on the agenda. So let’s get to it.

These S’mores Krispie Treats are an ode to one of the first snacks I made as a kid. Heck, I’m betting they may have been yours too. Because being entertained by the back of a cereal box is important to a kid who’s just learning to cook. And adults sometimes too.
So what do you think of my ombre marshmallow roasting method? I admit it. I may have been distracted by the maze on the back of the box.
Simple pleasures from simple recipes. Melting butter in the pan. Adding the marshmallows while sneaking a few. Then stirring, stirring and stirring. This recipe calls for a few additions to complete it’s s’more profile and a bit of toasting time. All totally worth it because it’s still as easy as snap, crackle and pop.

S’mores Krispies Bars and a Sweet S’more’s Recipe Round-Up
PrintIngredients
- 4 tablespoons salted butter
- 2 10 ounce packages small marshmallows
- ¾ cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup honey flavored graham cracker crumbs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 5 cups rice cereal
Instructions
- Prepare a 9 X 9 pan by spreading with butter or line with non-stick aluminum foil.
- Melt the butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add 1 ½ packages of the marshmallows to the pan and stir to melt. Remove from heat and stir in the mini chocolate chips, graham cracker crumbs and vanilla extract into the marshmallow. Add the rice cereal and toss to combine.
- Butter fingers and press the cereal into the prepared pan. Top with 2 cups of remaining mini marshmallows and broil for 5 minutes or until lightly browned.
- Refrigerate for 10-15 minutes. Lift the cereal from the pan and cut with a heavy knife coated with non-stick spray.
My s’more love doesn’t end with these krispie treats. Nope, they’re just adding to the pile.

I’ve made s’mores sandwiched between thin mint cookies in this recipe here.

I’ve even put them in jars like this recipe here.

And I had an amazingly decadent idea to skewer toasted marshmallow, top it with chocolate and shovel between oatmeal chocolate chip cookies in this recipe here.
And it simply fueled my fire to share more s’mores from some other food bloggers. Enjoy the goo.

A motivating discussion is worth comment. I think that you should publish more on this subject matter, it may not be a taboo matter but
typically folks don’t discuss such subjects.
