Happy Friday friends!
Schhhooolz. Out. For. Summer!
And I for one am ready. And I know my Smudge is too. Actually I wouldn’t know because the day after school got out she headed to Disneyworld with one of her best friends and her family.
She even celebrated her 12th birthday there. Without us. Sob. Sigh. I think it’s a sign of things to come. I better start getting used to it.
So last weekend, instead of feeling like empty nesters, we headed up to our friend’s cabin to enjoy the 3-day weekend. We prepped for summer, and as every good beginning to summer should, we started it off with this killer burger. Not a bad way to ring in summer IMHO (and if you don’t know what that stands for, keep reading…)
Today we had a car accident in the neighborhood and someone took out the transformer in a fender bender. So my house has no power. And my laptop is about to die. So I’m tethered to my phone as a hotspot (here’s how if you didn’t already know) and I’m keeping this short and sweet.
And for those of you who will also be losing power this summer due to one rolling blackout or another, here’s what to do when it happens.
So give thanks, and definitely have wine already chilled, because ice cubes melt fast and things could certainly be worse.
But until then, let’s just sit back, relax and dig into some Friday Faves.
Tonight we’re going to head back to our 90’s roots to see these guys. My husband has been perfecting his eyeliner all week *wink #notreallyoutofthequestion. I wonder if Robert will still have enough hair to tease it to the rafters?
