Hi there, and happy Friday friends!
This week positively flew by! I’m chalking it up to my spring fever hitting a fever pitch and yet I still haven’t planted my garden, my spring cleaning has yet to be cleansed and my New Years diet goals are still just goals.
But! Only 2 more weeks of school left for my Smudge (which means my man and I are sneaking in a few extra breakfast dates where I ask them to add an egg to anything and everything on the menu), and Mother’s Day means its safe to plant my herbs and tomatoes as the fear of frost has passed, plus longer days turn into stunning evenings and that means more time outside!
I’m not much of a joiner but this week I did something I rarely do. I joined a group. A ladies’ night golf group.
I have to admit, I was a little nervous. Walking into a new group of women who you anticipate have known one another forever only to be the outsider who is breaking into TV’s Sons of Anarchy biker gang I ❤️ Jax (did you hear there’s a spin-off???) like the long arm of the law who is totally not at all going to learn any of their secrets.
But it wasn’t like that at all.
These women were welcoming. Sincere. Friendly. Yes, I said friendly. And as an adult woman, we all know it is not easy to break into a group and make friends. But I have a feeling the reason it was so easy to break into the fold, to connect with each of these women is that they’re just like so many of us. They want to connect too. They want friends, but they’re not sure how to go about it. They’re afraid of being the odd duck in the group and it’s likely they’re afraid of not stacking up too.
This noodle recipe gets me.
This chicken dinner has all the right stuff.
GAAAHHH! Did you hear? There’s a NEW INSTANT POT out and this review says it all!!!! (I got mine here !! happy dance!)
This takes sweet rolls to a whole new level.
This new cookbook is going to be my go-to wedding gift of choice. It’s so, so good!

I FINALLY ordered this cookbook. As a recipe creator, I don’t know what took me so long.
This might be my signature cocktail for summer.

Loved this timely piece on mothers and all of their mystery.
All over this unique take on strawberry shortcake.
and speaking of cakes…
This is quite possibly the prettiest bundt cake I ever did see.
This little segment of Ellen showing Giada’s bad day in the kitchen is so cringe-worthy, it’s hilarious.

Just added these books to my summer reading list!
I don’t know what it is about my family dish washers, ahem, but I need a new batch of drinking glasses as we’ve suddenly started running low. These are a favorite.
I’m going to my friend Ali’s wedding in a few weeks and need to find a dress and I totally got waylaid in my search by this number. Gorgeous.
Loving this classic wide-legged pant and silky, slinky cami combo for summer. And, sale alert!
Also, I neeeed this dress and a trip to the beach (or at least the pool), stat.
What I Pinned This Week That You Should Pin Too
Nothing says “I love you, mom” like a meal made from the heart. Here are three pretty little treats I pinned this week that I think you should pin too.
Blueberry Pie Fudge
My mom is a HUGE fudge fan (this is her famous recipe here) so I wonder if she’d be into this berry version too?
Mixed Berry Pavlovas
As far as Mother’s Day desserts go, it just doesn’t get much classier than pavlovas. No doubt these pretty little things will make mom proud.
New York Style Crumb Cake
Lighter and cakier than cheesecake, this crumb cake takes the cake.
Happy weekend my friends, and I hope all of you mamas have a fabulous Mother’s Day — you’ve earned it!

I may have missed it, but I couldn’t find the recipe for the top photo… can you please let me know where to find it… thanks! :)
Thanks so much for the bundt cake love! Hope your Mother’s Day was relaxing and filled with all your favorite things (including a great bubbly, of course!). :)
I know exactly what you mean about making friends as an adult. It is not an easy task! Way to go showing up. I’m not sure I would’ve been able to convince myself not to back out.
Also – SoA Spinoff??! I need this in my life!
Congrats on doing something scary to you and joining that club. Go you.
