Happy spring Friday my friends. Boy, it’s good to be home.
In This Post
Of course I miss the Hawaiian sun shining on my now-at-home-in-zero-humidity-peeling skin, and the footloose and fancy free whims we wandered on our spring break vacation. It was exactly what I needed. Getting away from the every day, retreating from the usual responsibilities of life, and spending more one-on-one time with my little family than we have since our last vacation.
Why is vacation so important? Because science proves it’s so. So if you haven’t started planning your summer vaca, get on it! It’ll be here before we know it.
Leaving Maui was hard. But mainly because our 5 pm flight was cancelled and rescheduled for 12 pm the following day, so we had to do some quick finger dialing to beat the rest of our plane to find a new ride. Luckily we made haste and found seats to connect at LAX where I said adios to my man and my girl who made it home to our puppies (oh I missed them so!) while I continued on to Austin, TX to speak at the Indulge Conference.
On one of the three flights I took that day, I watched this TED talk on how to raise successful kids, and guess what it comes down to? CHORES. The perfect excuse to enforce my rule for all family hands on deck.
After 24 straight hours in the air, I hit the ground running. Make that running straight to Torchy’s Tacos for some of the best tacos and DEFINITELY the best queso that Austin has to offer. If I lived there, I would likely need to up my daily Tums intake to combat all the salsa I’d be consuming.

But enough about me, let’s dig into this week’s list of Friday Faves.
