Hello friendlies! It’s Friday!

My love of thick-cut, juicy red garden tomatoes is raging and I’m not going to waste a day not eating one because before I know it, the first killer frost will descend upon my garden and nuke my juicy little orbs. This avo caprese sandwich is just one of my regular devotions (I switch off between cottage cheese and fresh mozz), and is so good on warm toasty sourdough rubbed with a bit fresh garlic and topped with a spinkling of crunchy sea salt.
This week my fantasy football league (with a group of my college sorority sisters who back in the day were the champs of our intramural flag football league) completed our draft and set our bets for another season. Hey, I’m a big sports fan, but being in a fantasy league has made watching football even more fun. Here’s why more women are playing fantasy football than ever before. It makes sense!
We talked US Open fashion a week ago and how Naomi Osaka has brought it this year, but then I discovered last year’s look with an amazing ode to her Japanese heritage. Very cool.
This is something I’ve always wondered, especially when I was a kid and we’d have to do crash drills: Why don’t more school buses have seatbelts?
The season will soon be here: How to prevent colds and keep them from coming back.
Did anyone else have a countertop cooker like this one from 35 or so years ago? I gave mine away so long ago, but I swear it did the same thing as air fryers do today. Anyone else agree?

These Asian meatballs are dressed with a creamy kimchi sauce and I can’t get enough.

Brie is one of my favorite cheeses, making this pasta tops on my list.
This is such a pretty salad bowl, and what a great price including the servers.
Change of seasons always bring on the organizing bug in me. Here’s a few things I’m thinking of getting to help me debug my kitchen:
- These glass spice jars will put your spices in lovely order
- These bamboo sliders are such a great idea for moving on-or-under-the-counter appliances
- I ALWAYS keep my kosher salt at hand, making pinch pots like these a necessity (and they’re 25% off)
- And this stacking shelf would organize my little pots and oils I like to keep near my cooking area.
