Helllo, and happy Friday Faves!
Even though the calendar still says it’s spring, at our house summer eating is here! As I’ve mentioned before, we’re eating more salmon and fish to up our intake of essential fatty acids, and I couldn’t be happier to do so because I love eating fish. This week, I pulled some sockeye salmon from our stash in the freezer. It’s awesome to have on hand when we don’t know what to cook because it thaws so quick! My forever boyfriend cooked it on the grill, and I made his fave quick tomato and cucumber salad with a side of leftover white rice. He loves his fish with a good tartar sauce — I added some grated cucumber and dill — and it’s so easy to make at home! I plan on eating like this all summer long. You should join me!
My husband started watching this streaming series, and now I’m playing catch-up. It is SO GOOD.
Have you heard about the new contact lenses that could give users super-vision? You could become a super hero for real!
So, last weekend we were chatting with my bro-and-sister-in-law, and they had some good things they shared with us that I think you might like too:
- My brother-in-law is a health nut, and we were talking about recent studies supporting creatine’s help in fighting alzheimer’s and improving brain health (among so many other things). They take this brand of creatine and like it because it’s in pill form, so you can get more mg faster. I have this one that I add to my drinks. Looks like no matter which way you ingest it, it’s all good, so long as you are taking it!
- Then, they totally convinced me to get the CREAMi. They make ice cream treats with protein-enriched Fairlife milk, fruit or peanut butter, and added protein powder (he likes this one) for a totally wholesome afternoon or nighttime treat. You don’t have to tell me twice. On it!
- They also have these containers to batch-make their CREAMi treats and then freeze. Smart kids!
- Lastly, Ryan told us about this app that is going to change the way people make purchases. You scan the UPC of most food or cosmetic products, and it rates the product from 1 to 100 on how good or how bad it is for your health. My husband and I spent an extra hour in Costco yesterday just walking the aisles evaluating all the food! Totally eye-opening!
And, how the protein-panic is making this ingredient cool again.
