Hey, hey! It’s August’s first Friday!

I’m going to my high school reunion tonight. Oh boy, yes, times have changed and so have all of the rest of us! Probably the thing I’m worried about the most is not remembering people’s names (or worse, recognizing their faces), so these tips should help. I hope. I’m meeting up with a smaller group of my besties before for a snack and sip. I’m bringing my fave tomato tart because it’s delish, serves up the season, and is equally tasty served warm or chilled.
Man oh man, have things been heating up all across the land! Here’s a few ideas for what to do when it’s too hot to even think about going outside.
This week, while we were golfing with my friend Holly and her husband, we chatted about how Happy Gilmore 2 was out that day. I’d never seen the original, and they said I HAD to watch it before seeing the sequel. I gotta say, the original was v. funny, but the sequel was totally delightful! Especially if you know golf or, like me, are trying to pick out every one of the 60+ celebrity cameos showing up in every single scene! It was a little silly but cute, light, and a welcome escape during these difficult times.
Keeping it going with the silly, funny movie theme, this one has a 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, is in theatres today, and is next on my want-to-see list.
Here’s why you should live life like a fine bottle of champagne, and don’t save the good things for later!
This 15-year-old singer performs songs in so many different languages and doesn’t miss a beat.
My friend Courtney shared this book on her Instagram stories, saying she read it in two days! She literally couldn’t put it down. I’ll be borrowing it when I see her next week! (It’s also 40% off list price.)

I’ve been thinking I need to push myself out of the comfort zone and try baking homemade burger buns, and this recipe proves they’re not as hard as I think they’d be.
Plums are popping off the trees at our golf course, so I’ve been looking for recipes to use them, like this plum bar recipe and these plum bars with crumble topper.
I will easily eat the whole of this spring roll bowl.

I’ve been a big fan for years, but I’m unsubscribing because there are too any ads now and comments/links to ideas unrelated to food. WAY too much to wade through to get to the recipes. You should go back to keeping it simple.
Sorry you feel that way Patricia. You’re always welcome back if you change your mind.
