Happy Friday friends! Heave ho, let’s get to this weekend of love!

It’s bound to be one for the record books. This year the big heart day falls on Sunday (what are you cooking for two?) with President’s Day following right on it’s strappy high heels come Monday.

Every year, my mom gave these chocolates to my sweet grandma. They were grandma’s favorite, especially the milk chocolate versions.

My mom and grandma dutifully handed down their chocolate obsession to me, and I’m doing my best to keep the tradition going for my sweet Smudge. Only because it’s the motherly thing to do. XOXO Grandma MJ!

Last weekend I got to be front and center at the FIS World Cup Freestyle Ski Competition at Deer Valley Resort here in Utah with my Smudge, my man and a smattering of friends.

Athletes from all over the world came here to compete, and giving their everything to make it to the Olympics and it’s kind of crazy to think I saw them in the flesh and wiped away their spray of snow from my iPhone in their ascent to greatness.

Along the way I grabbed a selfie with my Smoodgie. It’s a crappy photo but I don’t care. She’s gorgeous.

Being in the crowd with flags a-waving, made me, as always, proud to be an American. I have a fondness for those athletes smashing the bumps because my brother-in-law was one of them years ago and man, I WISH I could do it. While I think I’m invincible and in my mind’s eye look JUST LIKE THEM, it’s a whole lot safer for me to watch from the sidelines.

Just bring me more food and wine (or a jaeger-filled flask?) and let’s call it good, shall we?

Even though it was just last Sunday, Superbowl seems like forever ago (if only I had Beyoncé’s wind machine I’d sing so much better) and we now all have our sights set on being with the ones we love.

Or, those we wish to love. *wink*

Wishing you a happy heart day and celebration of presidents of the past who are probably looking at the election process today and wondering what the heck is going on??!
