Happy Friday friends! And the Thanksgiving countdown has begun. Let’s celebrate with Tacos!
In This Post
This week I had the opportunity to go to not just one, but two foodie dream dinners at two of Utah’s premier ski resorts. Deer Valley Resort revealed their new winter menu, with all the food that’s fit to eat on the mountain and off, for low-key lunches to dream dinners.
There’s some exciting changes brewing at this world-renowned ski resort and the two I’m most excited about are with their on-mountain dining where they’ll be serving custom street tacos: Red Chile, Lime and Cilantro Shrimp + Mole Wagyu Beef + Niman Ranch Pork Carnitas.
Okay, so these aren’t simply your ordinary street tacos. I mean, we are at Deer Valley after all.
Next on the list of exciting food changes for Deer Valley comes to Silver Lake Lodge where you can swoosh down the mountain, pop off your skis and be sitting down to a bowl of steaming PHO in just minutes. This might be the only resort to offer this ethnic favorite on-mountain. Because my husband is a pho-addict, I have a feeling we will be spending ALOT of our time at Silver Lake Lodge this winter.
I’m okay with that.
Note to self: Next time take your big girl camera instead of just your iPhone. Sorry for the crappy shots that don’t do this pho-nominal soup justice.
Deer Valley never lets us leave these types of dinners empty handed, and this year I’m totally stealing their take-home breakfast gift idea for my own holiday neighbor gifts. Kouing-aman and homemade granola anyone? The best!
Earlier in the week we headed to the mountains for another foodie adventure and found not only amazing wines and eats, but snow too! I love the play of autumn’s colors with the previous week’s snow storm at Solitude Mountain Resort for the Wasatch Mountain Food and Wine Society Dinner hosted by .
The 5-course dinner featured wine pairings presented by the vinter of Bonny Doon Winery with courses like this Utah Potato Crusted King Salmon with Almond Pesto created by Andrew Fletcher, Solitude Mountain Resort’s recently appointed food and beverage director, and Deer Valley resort alum.
I was clearly out of my wine sampling league, but I seemed to hide that fact a-okay. I just held up my glass whenever they came by. Cheers!
