Hello again and happy Friday!
I thought summer days were supposed to float by but lately mine feel like they’ve been at a full sprint. How’s it possible there’s little more than one month left before the pools close and we’re all shopping for fall boots and sweaters? Just stop it already! And by “it” I mean time! I guess I’m living the lore that as you get older time goes by faster. I feel it baby. That’s why my goal for the rest of the summer is to slooooow down. Relax. Maybe even take a nap? I mean, napping is one of the 5 healthy afternoon habits inspired by the oldest living people in the world so if they can do it, seems like I should be following their lead.
As always, I’ll be adding eating right to my summer goals too. I mean, if foods like these have helped these communities have the largest number of people to live to 100, then why not give it a try? That’s why salads like the one above are most often on my lunch menu. I load stuff like savory leftovers of my favorite grilled salmon and sunflower seeds for heart-healthy protein, omega-3s, and good-for-me fat; my tangy three-bean salad to get in the recommended 1 cup of beans per day; blueberries for phytonutrients and a sweet bite, plus lettuces, red onion, and cucumber for greens. It’s truly not hard to pull a salad like this together. And eat to live at the same time!
With that, let’s move into the weekend and this week’s list of Friday Faves.
