Hello hello and happy Friday.
Well, we are back to it. Back to figuring out what’s for dinner and who has to be where at what time as we slip out of that lovely summer ease and enter back into the swing of school, work, and routine.
But! There’s no point in dwelling on summer’s dimming light. I’m going to take the silver lining of lessons I’ve learned from the scramble of the past year where routine was non-existent, and bring them with me to a new stage of hope and optimism.
With each passing season I find myself sitting down to make a list of goals and ambitions. It feels good to take pen to paper and empty my buzzing brain of my to-do list while creating my to-be list alongside it. Funnily enough, except for swapping out my swimsuit for snow boots, my lists don’t change a whole lot from one season to another. But making note of the things I want to do and the person I wish to be and the community I want to provide for you provides a starting point and a jumpstart to start afresh.
When was the last time you sat down with yourself to check in on your habits and look forward? Manifestation is real (even Oprah says so), and you are the key to making your life’s happiness happen.
This summer, after 11 years of working my tail off as the solopreneur of FoodieCrush, I gave myself a summer vacation and took time away from the blog. It was much needed and boy did it feel good. The time away permitted me to think, evaluate, and discover new inspiration. So now, it’s time to get back to work, and because I put myself first, I’m ready. Let’s go!
But first, let’s dig into this week’s Friday Faves. Enjoy!
