Hey, hey! Yay, it’s Friday!
Tis the season for reunions! Last weekend our family had its first official family reunion and I’m happy to say it was a barn-burning success with loads of fun and frivolity that was had by all.
And the food! SO MUCH FOOD! Given there were so many mouths to feed, I decided on a Mexican theme where everyone could help themselves to more or less as they saw fit. I made my just-like-Taco Bell taco meat a few days before to lessen the day-of-party stress. Cooking the chicken fajitas at the party on our flat top grill was a breeze and showed off my husband’s cooking cred to the guys since most of them hadn’t seen a. gas flat top grill before. Caesar salad, a bunch of pasta salads, guac, so many salsas, and lots of yummy desserts including Ina’s flag cake were only topped by a WWE themed piñata showdown.
It all made me wonder why we waited so long to celebrate family, and inspired us all to do it again a whole lot sooner than later.
This week, the reunions continue with my annual college friends reunion where I’m sure I’ll return with the best memories and feeling like I completed a serious ab workout after laughing so much.
But until then, let’s dig into this week’s Friday Faves.
