Hey hey and happy Friday!
Is there anything better than a 4-day week? How about a 5-day vacation? I’m happy with either, or both! So long as I get time to recharge, life always looks rosier when reality comes back into focus.
Slowing down helps me destress and makes me feel happier and healthier. Over these past 15 months, everyone’s expectations have become a whole lot looser, and as a result, I’ve learned so much about myself.
Giving myself permission to let go of self-imposed deadlines and tasks has been so freeing, and something I never thought I could actually do. I mean, wouldl anyone even notice if I didn’t post to Instagram? Or put off vacuuming my house? Nope. Nobody is waiting with bated breath for my next move. They’re too focused on themselves and wondering what others are thinking of them :). It really is a full circle cycle, so when you realize nobody is waiting to see your next step, it’s totally liberating to recalibrate, slow down, and create some quiet in this hectic world called life.
If you haven’t yet, this week eliminate one thing that you think is SO important, that nobody else will likely notice. Then, take that extra time and and do something you’d really rather be doing, not something you feel you need to do. These little steps really do add up to make a big difference in our days. And who’s going to notice anyway? Only you.
But first, let’s dig into this week’s Friday Faves.
First, the easiest dinner I made this week was my fave sloppy joes and super easy grilled corn. Always with a side of potato chips and cottage cheese.
