Hello hello and happy Friday!
The whole world has set the pause button on life as we knew it. It’s certainly not the same.
We’re all doing our best to sustain some semblance of routine in the memory of normalcy. Home schooling, binge watching, worrying, endlessly scrolling through our phones, more worrying, walking the dogs, trying to stay positive, watching the cats, working, zooming, wistfully wishing for a cut and color, and cooking. Lots and lots of cooking.
Our lives are still happening. And thankfully, there are many who are outdoing and outshining the rest of us with their commitment to keeping us safe and healthy while people like me hole up in the humdrum of the days.
I miss a lot of things and our old routine. But I have to remind myself that being flexible is the only way to be now.
So when I can’t find Italian sausage, I flavor ground turkey with fennel and crushed red pepper instead.
When I can’t go out to lunch with my mom and dad, I wave from the driveway when I deliver them meals instead. (like these stuffed peppers in the photo above.)
When I can’t bear to see another record breaking statistic ignored, I turn off the TV.
And when she doesn’t want to wake up to do school, I chill-the-mothering-out because she HAS ALL DAY to do it. Then I sit back and smile at the giggling and laughing and screaming like the teenager she is as she Facetimes with her friends.
For better and for worse, that’s life these days. I’m just thankful my family and I are healthfully living it.
And, if I forget to remember it’s not all bad, I’m looking at this list of 100 things to be grateful for right now.
But enough of all that, let’s get to why you’re here, and dig into this week’s Friday Faves.

We are the lucky parents who have a FoodieCrush daughter who keeps us supplied with so many delicious meals, she even delivers. We just finished the stuffed peppers, we even got to enjoy them for two meals they we’re so delicious. I really like the topping of Fontina cheese. Give them a try I think you’ll really enjoy them. We want to thank our very thoughtful daughter Heidi who happens to be an excellent cook. I always love Fridayfaves.
XOXOXO Love you mama

I also have a cunning plan regarding Italian Sausage. Most recipes call for the meat to be taken out of the skins so I do something similar but with Pork. I have not made and nicely ground Pork yet just standard as bought in the supermarket but why bother to put it into skins when you are going to take it out again. btw Italian Sausage is not easy to get hold of in Britain.
