Hello and happy Mother’s Day Friday!
It seems silly to think there would be just one day of the year to celebrate our mothers. It should be an honor to celebrate moms every day. Moms are the ties that bind, the motivating force to push us past our limits, the guide that keep us in line, and the cheerleaders that keep us going toward the heights we never thought we could reach.
Or is that just my mom?
I’m one of the lucky ones. My mom and I are tight. Like, best friends tight. When I hear of mother-daughter relationships that are strained, or non-existent, it makes me profoundly sad. Mother daughter relationships are unique, with trials and tribulations, highs and lows. Every mother sees a bit of herself in her daughter. It’s why we push, warn, judge, and hope for all the best things for our daughters—for them to become all they wish to be, and what we wish for ourselves to be and become, too.
Whether future, past, two-or-four-legged, Happy Mother’s Day to all you mamas out there. Take time this weekend—and every day—to celebrate the moms who truly keep the world going round.
And with that wish, let’s dig into this week’s Friday Faves.

It takes a lot to get me to commit to a TV series or go to movies, but there are so many things I want to see right now, like:

- I’m definitely making time for this coming of age high school drama that seems posed smack dab in today’s reality.
- And because both my husband and I have a Charlize crush, we will be seeing this movie.

I am a fella and my mother died when I was a baby and my step mother was not nice so Mothers day has never been important. IF I were to be choosing a pressy for this Sunday the last thing I would think of buying would be anything for the house, cooking, housework etc. Having said that I do not have any idea what I would get her.
I hope my two sons think of something nice to get their Mother.
