Hey, hey, hey! Happy Friday!
The sights of fall are settling in. The drizzling rain has kept the sun from shining all week, the farmers markets are winding down, we had our first mountain snowfall, the back-biting of the mid-term elections is in full-swing, and I seriously need to get busy prepping my garden for next year because a freeze is in the forecast.
Ah fall, I love ya.
And just like clockwork, as the leaves begin to turn the baking bug bites me in a big way. I am totally craving comfort food, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, getting into the kitchen, and never wanting to leave.
As part my work of creating habits that stick, I’m making it a point to cook just for fun, not just for the blog. I love cooking, but when your passion is your work, keeping the creative juices flowing is a challenge. But this time of year, it always inspires me again.

Hi Heidi, I wanted to let you know I made your mediterranean cous cous last night. It was a huge hit with the hubs. I had to sub in riced cauliflower for him due to dietary restrictions. I added dried apricots, toasted pine nuts, parsley, black olives, feta, and sun-dried tomatoes. He loved it. Making more for my mom today to pass along. Thank you!
Heidi
Hi Linda, I’m so glad you loved it too, and cheers to spreading the love and meal to your mama too. XO
Karista
Heidi, the reverse fasting is interesting. I intermittent fast (totally believe in it by the way) but I’m always done eating by 8pm anyway, because I need my pj’s on and tea in my hands by 8. Ha! Also, my sis has the Cuisinart waffle maker and LOVES it. I absolutely love the picture of you and your darling daughter! You two… such beauties!! And thank god curly hair is back! My hair will thank me. ;)
Heidi
Ah Karista! That’s so good to know about the fasting. I’ve been playing around with it, but it hasn’t done much for me in the losing weight department. I’m hopeful it will start to kick in soon. And thank you for the nice words about me and my baby..she is my everything. XO and Happy Friday!
