Snap, Crackle, POP! and a Happy 4th of July!

This weekend I’m heading to the hills for our annual quest to see just how much recipe creating we can do in between kayaking lake time, cabin nap time and deck drinking time. It’s a tradition that’s much needed since I’ve realized that in 2 more weeks, summer for me will be half over. Major sad face.

The next few weeks are going to fly by with as I hit my old stomping grounds and some brand new frontier. You’ll be seeing my adventures on Instagram, so follow along and let’s see where we go.

But enough about what’s down the road, let’s look at what’s right in front of us and set the weekend on fire with a few Friday Faves.

I knew it! After breaking my iPhone screen TWICE and having it replaced two times in just one week (I’ve never broken ANY digital device before) and then my husband cracked his iPhone screen and then Smudge broke hers too! It had to be true and I was totally right. Mercury is in retrograde and July 1 was the worst of it. Thank goodness we’ve turned the tide. 

What did I learn after all this? I need a full protection bumper case for my phone. I’m thinking any one of these cases are truly fashionable form and function.

Taylor Kitsch vs. French Fries. The ultimate “Which would you rather?” quiz. So sad. Brad Pitt didn’t even make the list. Sigh.

Somehow I’ve lost each and every one of my favorite lip glosses. I blame my mini purse for devouring them. So I stopped by Sephora and bought this baby. It’s a stain and a gloss and supposed to be built to last. We. Shall. See.

The favorite thing about my morning walks? A: the view from my mountain and B: listening to this podcast. I cannot get enough!

I shared a photo of my husband putting together our new grill on Instagram (lots of deliciousness coming up in July!) and everyone commented on his shirt! What a fashionista. Or something. Get it here.

The photo of this Easy Blueberry Pie nearly sent me over the edge. DYING!

A match made in heaven: a DIY Slip ‘n Slide right here after I’ve kicked back a few of Ginger Peach Coolers, because I love ginger beer THAT much. Trouble spelled backward spells fun.

I was definitely more of a Malibu Barbie fan as a kid, but mainly so Barbie and Ken could make out and ride around in their cool Barbie dune buggy. But for Lego fans, this could be ground-breaking and totally save the bank.

American flag jello. This is genius!

I’m going to be moving to the front of the line! My parents applied for this so now they don’t have to take off all of their gear or take their computers out of their bag while going through airline security. I’m totally signing up.
