Hello, and welcome to Love Island. I mean, Friday Faves!

This week, I looked in my pantry and then in my freezer, and I was once again reminded I have waaaayyy too many back-ups. And I keep buying more! So! I’ve committed to the next 30 days to cook what I have stockpiled and squirrelled away. When it comes to pantry items, condiments in the fridge, and proteins in my freezer, I’ll shop from there instead of the store. Fresh veg/fruit, milk, and some bread are excluded from my mission. Oh, and stuff I have to cook for the blog. But other than that, it’s time to go through the extras instead of tossing them when they’ve expired or gotten freezer burn. My meals may not be perfect, or insta-worthy, but they’ll be nutritious and already paid for. This is going to feel good.

This week, 19 Buddhist monks ended their 2,300-mile walk for peace, arriving in Washington, D.C. This sage piece of advice (not so ironically via Instagram) hit me over the head, especially as I’ve watched my screen time steadily increase over the past few months.

If you’re looking for a new hobby you can do in front of the television or snuggled up under a blanket, this should be it. How cute are they? Especially the food-themed ones and the Japanese blossoms!!?? They’d make a cute gift, too.
I discovered this ticketing app that cuts out all of the fees that make every single event ticket you buy go through the roof! Definitely going to check it next time before heading to Seat Geek or Ticketmaster.
I have over 500 cookbooks, so keeping in mind which ones have which recipes I want to reference or cook is nearly impossible. At this stage, my brain is just about done-full-up. That’s why this app is totally intriguing me! It searches for the recipes you want in the cookbooks you own, then tells you the page number, etc., so you can cook from the book. Kind of brilliant, if you ask me.
