Hello and happy Friday friends!
In This Post
How great is it to end a 4-day work week with plenty of reasons to be grateful it’s Friday.
Because after the past few weeks of feeling like the world is going to hell in a hand basket (to quote my sweet mother) with such total sh*t happening in the world, there are still many reasons for trying to stay positive. Family. Friends. And feeling lucky to be alive.
But sometimes it’s just too much. And that’s why we need to stick together, to help others and to be more open to their ideas, grace, hopes and dreams.
Can’t we all just get along?
Last weekend my husband and I met some wonderful new people, who after clinking wine glasses, swapping stories and histories, we can now call friends.
It’s what sharing a meal can do to a group of strangers. And I recommend it to everyone.
We were at the Wasatch Mountain Table at Solitude Resort. A dinner held mountainside in one of Utah’s most pristine canyons, is open and welcoming to anyone and everyone who loves good food and good wine.
My hand is obviously raised.
This nights theme was Pigs n’ Pinot. The locally sourced 5-course meal created by Chef Ty Hess was paired by wines from wine wholesaler and importer Vine Lore.
The wines and food were matched only by the company and the setting. Hey Cassidy!
Gourmet Peas n’ Ham (spring pea vichyssoise with pea shoots and crispy ham), Pork n’ Beans (braised pork belly, Zursun heirloom beans and fine herbs) paired with Elk Cove Pinot Noir and Steak n’ Eggs (Salmon Creek Farms grilled pork tenderloin, poached quail egg, broccoli greens, farro and red-eye gravy) were all paired with varieties of Pinots that whetted the whistle and topped off our bellies.

Our food festival-attending is going full strength when we’ll be headed to the Wasatch Back for the Park City Food and Wine Classic. Follow along on Snapchat and Instagram to see what we’re up to.
But enough about me, let’s talk about this week’s Friday Faves. Dig in!
