Hello and happy Friday!
By this time last year, I already had my Christmas tree up. In fact, it was up a full 13 days earlier than today. Last year I had nothing else to do but pull everything out of the storage room and get the halls deckered. This year, life has picked back up to speed leaving less time to tinker around the house looking for things to do.
Psychologists say putting your Christmas decor up early provides a dopamine rush that makes people happy. I say let’s be happy! That’s why putting up the tree is on this weekend’s to-do list. I mean, Christmas IS my favorite time of year, so why not make it last to enjoy it longer?!
Another item on this weekend’s to-do list? Getting my turkey and starting the thaw. If you’ve been following my Thanksgiving prep timeline, you know the time to start is NOW. If you haven’t been following, get it now so you’re not left behind.
But first, let’s dig into this week’s Friday Faves. Enjoy!

Because you’ve listened to my harping on and on about how good your bird will be when you make a turkey brine if you’re doing the wet brine, get your turkey brine bags ASAP so you’re not left not holding the bag. HA.
Where to find turkey brining bags:
- from Bed Bath & Beyond
- I also like these from Williams Sonoma
- these bags from Crate & Barrel are two for the same price as one
- or head to Walmart
