Hello and happy Friday!
Who else is ready to relax and enjoy an easy breezy lazy weekend where the perfect sunny side egg forecasts a great weekend ahead? Weekends = my love language.
You’ve heard of the Love Languages, right? My friend Ali was the first to tell me about it, and boy, is she a believer. After reading the book myself, I’m a convert too. It just makes so much sense.
Love Languages is popularized by the idea there are five ways we all express and experience love—through words of affirmation, quality time, receiving gifts, acts of service, or physical touch. By understanding one another’s love languages, you can begin to understand that how they speak or show their love language to others is actually how they wish to be treated themselves (with kind words, benevolent actions, hugs and touch, etc.).
Sometimes you can see someone’s love language plain as day. Sometimes it’s not so easy to detect. That’s why I liked this article on how paying attention to others starts with treating them by way of their love language, and how neglecting friendships can be just as detrimental as neglecting lovers. I’ve been guilty of both, but I’m continuing working on making myself, and my relationships, better. Maybe you should too?
But enough of that. Let’s dig into this week’s Friday Faves.
