Hey hey and happy Friday!
Since the new year, we’ve been on the eat healthy-ish train. And judging by which recipes you’re looking at here on FoodieCrush, you are too.
I’ve really been into the Blue Zones initiative. It’s based on a study that shows the 5 areas in the world where people live the longest thanks to encouraging health and longevity by eating more plants, less meat, more movement, and more community. All things I am happily to adopt into my every day life. I highly recommend you check out the TED Talks and decide if it’s something you’d like to ease into too.
The philosophy is one more reason I’m happy to keep eating and creating more Asian and mediterranean meals, like so many I share here on the blog. And thanks to the BZ, I’m now really focused on eating 1 cup of beans a day which according to BZ can add four years to your life. Just by eating beans! Not to mention help with digestion. Da dum dum toot toot.
That’s why earlier this week when we went to the Asian supermarket to stock up on fish sauce, dashi, and udon noodles, while I really wanted to try one of the crazy hot dogs baked in a bun with a drizzle of something creamy shown above, I passed. For now. It’s just one day, one hot dog to say no to. There will always be another day, and another hot dog to say yes to.
How do you say “no” when you really want to say “yes!”? Tell us all in the comments below. We could all really use the encouragement to stick to our goals.
But enough about all that, let’s dig into this week’s Friday Faves.

We binged The Morning Show and LOVED it and found new respect for Jennifer Aniston acting outside of her usual self. I don’t know if I’ll ever watch a morning show the same way again. But anyway…I’m now all about everything JA:
- From JA’s wardrobe from the show that goes right along with my French girl styling obsession, and thus I have become slightly fan-girled with her stylist.
- Jennifer used these in several scenes so I’m totally sure she uses them in real life. Right?
- And that all made me go back to wishing I lived in her LA home that oozes with my kind of style.
