Hello and happy Friday!
Yesterday I brined my 4th bird of the season for my AliSmudge’s teen Friendsgiving this Saturday, and will be brining my 5th and 6th this weekend for hosting my own Thanksgiving next week. I’m a flavor-infusing machine.
While I’ve been in turkey heaven, my husband has taken over dinner duties, including making his favorite beef stroganoff shown above. The roasted mushrooms are my favorite part. If you have family visiting for Thanksgiving, this is a great recipe to make.
Once the turkey day leftovers have been put away, I’ll be hot and heavy into the Black Friday deals, and I’m betting you will be too. That’s why next week, we will be offering the biggest sale of the year on the 2020 Nourished Planner—my other passion project that keeps me focused, organized, and reminds me it’s okay to say “no” to make more room for “yes”.
But why wait for Black Friday to get the killer deal? I want to give you an exclusive Black Friday deal BEFORE Black Friday hits, with a sale that has no limits on how many discount planners are sold.
Exclusive to FoodieCrush readers enter the code FOODIECRUSH30 at checkout to get 30% OFF your entire 2020 Nourished Planner purchase.
Don’t wait to get yours, because the offer ends Monday 11/25/19 at midnight.
I’m a pen and paper gal. I’ve tried digital calendars, apps, and to-do lists, but they just don’t work for me. That’s why my partner Alexa and I created the Nourished Planner. Honestly, creating this planner every year (it’s our 3rd year!) is a selfish endeavor, because it’s the tool I turn to every day to keep all the different lanes of life tracked in one spot and I can’t imagine not having it for myself.
This planner is my right hand man/personal assistant and where I keep track of:
- my monthly calendar
- daily to-do lists
- 2020 monthly goals
- daily meal planning
- daily appointments
- activity tracker (need more of this!)
- weekly challenges to keep me on my toes and trying new things
- themed monthly challenges, habit trackers, and bucket lists

I love looking forward to all that can happen in the new year, but first, let’s take a look the links I found for this week’s Friday faves.
This week’s recipes on FoodieCrush:
- Ultimately easy glazed carrots (make them on the stove to save oven space)
- The results are in for the best turkey brine
- My mom’s classic brown butter green beans almondine
- Have you ever had funeral potatoes? So goooood!
Yep it’s true. Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is coming to my fair land and I am dying to see it come to life. And no, I am not on the show. But if I were, maybe this could be my tagline: “I add salt to my cooking and can rub it in too.” Sizzle.
Could honey be the secret to the long lives led on this Greek island? I’m going to find out for myself and will totally be ordering when it comes back in stock.
This is why we need more Bon Jovi’s in the world.
The cutest button of a stray dog was playing in my yard again this week, and I quickly found it’s owner. If you have a pupper dog, be sure it has a tag with your mobile number and be sure to microchip.
