Last year for Thanksgiving we skipped the turkey, the stuffing and my beloved pumpkin pie and took off for a family vacation to Turks & Caicos instead. Coming from the West, it was a bit of a trek to the Caribbean, but oh so totally worth it.
Before the storm of turkey-trot travelers hits the travelways, I’m once again traveling the friendly skies on my way to Memphis and Nashville, TN. I’ll be partaking of Gus’s World Famous Fried Chicken, an earful of authentic Delta blues and a pre-Thanksgiving get together here with friends I’ve made both online and off.
Sitting in airports and smooshed against the window seat fighting for the arm rest inspired me to create a flying friendly Friday Faves. So let’s set flight, shall we?

DIY Airplane Food
Gone are the days of airlines serving a hot meal with real knives and forks. Now you’re lucky if you get a bag of pretzels or peanuts without a fee. What to do? Make your own at home and snarf those suckers down with your single serving plastic cup of apple juice.
