Hello hello and Happy first Friday of February!
Re-entry into real life has not been easy. For 10 days my husband and I were beyond fortunate to spend some much needed one on one time thanks to Viking Cruises. We languished, explored, ate ourselves silly, and met some wonderful people while ocean sailing through the Caribbean and West Indies.
Our trip ended on Monday when we tried to fly home from Puerto Rico, but the airline had a hiccup due to a fight on board our inbound plane that had to be turned around and sent back to Orlando, causing us to miss our connection, so our one travel day turned into two.
No big deal, until…
But then I developed a raging eye infection on the final leg home which pretty much rendered me blind. It was worse than eye infections I’d had before. My eyesight was cloudy and blocked and more painful than ever before. Of course my mind raced. I must have a tumor. Or cancer. Or my cornea is beyond repair. It would probably be permanent. I’d never see again. How would I take another photo? I’d have to find a new job. What would I do next? What about our daughter? I’d never see her smile again!
So I rested it the last couple of days. I chilled out. I didn’t even look at the blog. Because I couldn’t. And guess what? All is well with the world again, and my eye too.
My hypochondria has been tabled for now and my baby blues are back to looking forward to a new month again. Yep. February is here!
I’m excited to share more about my trip in a post soon, because it was seriously awesome. I never considered myself a cruising type of gal, but man, I may have been bitten by the bug. What do you want to know about the trip? The highlights or the insider secrets and tips? Email me back and let me know.

I didn’t hear much about this movie that showed at Sundance last year, but we totally enjoyed it. Really funny and for my rock star husband, a little close to the heart.
We finally watched this movie and just like everyone else, we LOVED it. Read this interview with the costume designer and yes, part 2 and 3 are in the works.
