Happy Friday friends of FoodieCrush!
I’m here in Hawaii for spring break with my little family. We only have 2 more days left and I’m spending my last full day of island fun zip lining my way around Maui. Oh my lord. What was I thinking? Zip lining was a the top of Smudge’s Maui wish list and so of course we had to make it happen. An 11-line zip line course. This mama is gonna be worked!
We’ve had a blast this week. The weather has been incredible, the beaches exactly what we wished for, so much good food to be had, and so much good family time to always remember.
I haven’t put any makeup on in a week, I’ve washed my hair only twice, and as usual I totally over-packed because I’ve barely gotten out of my swimsuit.
Spring break, I don’t want you to end. But end you will, and at thankfully we’ll have loads of memories and plenty of selfies to remember our time by. What are your favorite spring break memories? I’d love to hear them in the comments below.
Since I’m on the island and it’s all about me being on the island, this week’s faves are pretty island-centric. So enough about me, let’s get into this week’s list of Friday Faves.
I think my next island adventure should include swimming with these guys. And I’ve been here and didn’t even know what I missed!
These fish taco bowls look delish and are Whole30 approved.
OMG! This pie! Allll-ooooo-ha!
I have been eating this every single day since I arrived and now I’ll be able to eat it when I get home, too. YES!
Watch out ramen, these might be my new favorite noodles.
How to find the best beach read.
My favorite guide to traveling through Maui. It holds all the secrets.
My favorite sun hat. It hasn’t ripped from my head once in the beach swell winds.
My new favorite swimsuit. Or at least close to it. It hugs and tugs in all the right places.
My favorite sunscreen for my lips. The perfect greasy swoosh.
My favorite new razor. We had to stop at Target to pick it up since we did carry on, and you know how expensive razors are. These are a total deal.
My new favorite coverup I picked up at Costco in Maui—with my week’s worth of wine. This is NOT going into the vacation pile giveaway.
The girls at the beach with thongs up their butts (it’s all the rage and if I only I was 21 again…) were floating on this dude.
but…
This is my favorite beach floatie. I stuffed it in my carry on just to get it here to float around the island.
How to bring beach vibes to your own home.
How to create beach waves with a flat iron.
I feel like this is pretty much my life: The dishes can wait and other lies.
Recipes I Pinned for a Hawaiian Flair
I’ve pinned some Hawaiian faves that will keep my trip always in my heart, and on my Pin boards.
Homemade Copycat Acai Bowl
Every turn I take on this island leads me to another acai bowl. This one though, looks totally amazing.
Hawaiian BBQ Tempeh Lettuce Wrap
All the tropical flavors with a healthy vegetarian bite.
Easy Baked Hawaiian Chicken
An easy marinade of soy sauce, pineapple juice, brown sugar, and oyster sauce make the glaze of dreams for any chicken breast.
