Happy Friday friends!
Last weekend I spent some quality time with 14 of my college friends on a girl getaway to Las Vegas, eating jello shots, eating good food and dancing as only us girls can do to David & David, YAZ and Depeche Mode. Does that date me?
You don’t have to answer that…
One of our Vegas nights we left our swimming lagooned rented home and pink floaties and ventured to the strip with red solo cups in hand. We were off to partake of the water show La Reve. The predominance of the show’s cast of male bald-headed bodies were a little bit freaky aka a bit on the Aryan side, but their athleticism as they glided through the waters, twisted, flipped and dove from above definitely weren’t too hard on the eyes. A good show to see if you’re headed to Vegas.
This weekend I’m taking my girl and a gaggle of her friends to the cabin. Wish me luck with this wild bunch of 10 year old banshees. We’ll be giving this fun scavenger hunt a go and these leaf animal art projects will be super fun to emulate, and I’m thinking a good old fashioned tournament of my favorite card game War is in order. Thank you, Pinterest.

After a summer of potato salads and burgers on the grill (my mom’s classic potato salad is coming to the blog next week, YES!), I’m back to taking a good hard look at returning to healthy and balanced dinnertime fare, starting with sustainable fish. This sustainable fish guide in app and web form will keep my scale and fin meals in check. I’m looking at you Pacific U.S. wild halibut.
This DIY wall art, how cool is that?
This recipe for Olive oil ice cream? I’ll try it!

My girl and one of her besties love giving me beauty treatments, and you must be crazy if you think I’m going to say no to being pampered by 10 year olds. Their favorite facial for me is an oatmeal scrub that consists of oatmeal, 1 teaspoon honey and 1 egg white. I think they’re skills have progressed them ready to embark on more recipes like these here.
And btw, what’s up with all of the duck lips in that pic?

I’m totally into watching celebs do crazy things with Bear Grylls. Hello Channing Tatum!
A friend gave this rub to me in college and it is my favorite way to get rid of a headache. I dab it on my temples and relax. So totally soothing with a warm washcloth on my eyes.

If you’re like me, you shed a tear when Mork from planet Ork / Mrs. Doubtfire / Peter Pan / Alladin / Captain, My Captain aka the legend Robin Williams left the house this week. This tribute from Norm MacDonald made me feel just a little bit better. Williams’ plight highlights what a common malady and disease depression is and how serious it can become.

First of all I want to say wonderful blog!
I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you
do not mind. I was interested to find out how you
center yourself and clear yyour thoughts before writing.
I’ve had a difficult time clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out there.
I truly do enjoy writing but it just seems like
the first 10 to 15 minutes are lost simply just trying to figure out how to begin.
Any suggestions or tips? Appreciate it!

Nothing better than a girls’ weekend in Vegas, except maybe a cabin weekend with 10 year old girls? Next year you need to switch the order of those two getaways ;) Thanks for including us in the Friday Faves! Have a fabulous weekend.
