Happy Friday my friends!
According to my advent calendar, the Christmas countdown is on and things are getting fast and furious. The tree is up. The presents are bought. The presents STILL need to be wrapped, but hey! That’s what weekends are for, along with some volunteerism mixed in.
Two years ago I felt like my daughter needed a little philanthropy in her life and to help others during the holidays so she’d appreciate all she is so lucky to have. We volunteered with the Utah/Nevada Dairy Council and Smith’s Food and Drug to create a one-day donation event we called Santa’s Milk Drive.
My daughter and her 10 year old friends and other volunteers were in the aisles asking customers to donate, running back and forth loading gallons of milk in shopping carts. It was awesome and they did such a good job (see it here), because who can say no to a kid in a cow hat? And I can’t believe how little they all look from just 2 years ago!
The day resulted in over 200 gallons of milk donated to the Utah Food Bank and everyone was thrilled with the results.
