Happy Friday!
I think we’re all in the same camp this week. The HOT AS H-E-DOUBLETOOTHPICKS camp.
Today is the last day of our beach vacation in Venice, CA and our only reprieve from the hotness is that we’ve spent every day building sand castles and basking in the surf. Even at the beach where there’s normally an ocean breeze…there hasn’t been. Instead, HOT!
But no matter for us. We ate at all of our favorite old haunts, discovered a few new ones, including an amazing new avocado toast and totally took advantage of every single farmers market we could get to.
Stone fruit is at its prime here in Cali right now and if you ever get a chance to try a Satsuma plum, do it! They’re mother nature’s answer to candy. DELISH.
It’s our last day in SoCal, so why would I wax on here on the blog when I can be applying my last coating of sunscreen for a final day on the beach?
Stay cool friends, and dig into this week’s Friday Faves.
Enjoy!
Ummmm, this girl with the powerhouse voice is only 12. TWELVE.
Pie in jars. Totally picnic ready.
I need this frosé in my life.
Let’s talk. How to make 6 different types of frosting.

These early morning routines of America’s favorite newscasters make me feel like an underachiever. 2:46 a.m. — ouch!
I am STILL revved up over the First Lady’s empowering speech at the DNC the other night. Ugh, is she not the best First Lady ever?
and…
The new judges for The Voice have been announced. More girl power!
We took a break from farmers markets in all our not Snapchattded crowned glroy to wander through shops on Main Street in Santa Monica and I fell in LOVE with MUJI. All the organization stuff a geek like me falls for, plus I stocked up on these pens, perfect for the pen obsessed.
The forecast for the next 3 months is hotter than any season on record. Is your depdorant working? I’m a sweater, and this deordorant is the only one that works for me, and I never sweat anymore no matter how hot it gets. So if I get alzheimer’s…well…I certainly won’t remember ever being pitty.
I’m totally excited to read this book. I need a laugh or 20.
These homesick candles — what does your home state smell like?
Hands down the coolest lamp I’ve ever seen.
A sneak peek of Ikea’s catalog. That rocking chair, though…
And this dress!
And I may be getting a tad ahead of myself, but I think I need one of these ex-boyfriend shirts for the fall.
Short hair, they’re all doing it. This breezy style is giving me inspiration.
Kids driving you crazy this summer? Don’t worry, they’ll be back in school soon enough. ;) In the meantime, here’s a reading list for kids of all ages to keep them entertained.
These women are so inspiring! Who says you have to use your legs to dance?

I read Light Between Oceans! Dreamy, terrifying, heartbreaking! A story where you can’t help but root for the “bad guys”. The movie cast is perfect!
